The Laken Riley Act

The Laken Riley Act aims to hold, prosecute, and deport illegal immigrants in the United States. Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student at Augusta University, was known for her kindness and desire to help others. While jogging near the University of Georgia, she was attacked, kidnapped, and brutally murdered by Jose Antonio Ibarra, an illegal immigrant gang member. Ibarra is currently serving a life sentence without parole. This tragic incident is one of many that underscore the importance of the Laken Riley Act.

This Act is one of the most significant pieces of legislation to pass in the House in recent years. It allows citizens to hold the federal government accountable for actions that lead to the destruction of state and private property and crimes committed by illegal immigrants.
